What about the things that we accept into our WORLDS. What about the moments that change us. That move us as human beings. What about the guilt, the blame, the heartache we so willingly take on given the same thoughtless reaction.
We accept what we feel we deserve. Seeing people, and places as WE are, not as THEY are. I am dying inside...all I see around me is death. I am feeling fragile...all I see are shattered people. I accept only what my mind can handle. We are drawn to the sickest parts of ourselves. We are drawn to the individuals that feel us, or that WE feel for that matter. I love you because your heart breaks the same way as mine, and your world is painted with the same exact light suffocating colors.
How is it that we can feel so many things, and absolutely nothing at all. Why is it that you make me make sense. Why is it that I am not better than the things that I have seen if they are different from the things that I have done?
" We were born sick. You heard them say it"
Somewhere after panic, and horror, and utter disgust. After numbness, and years of wearing blinders, and earmuffs and handcuffs. After prayer after desperate prayer. Willingness, and freedom, and TRUE acceptance do we begin to heal.
Years later we realize just how small our worlds had been. Just how tightly we held on to those moments that defined us. Those people that validated our own sad existence. Only after recognition of these parallel universes in our heads do we learn how to accept reality. Reality for all that it is, and not all that we are.
We are so much greater than the sum of all of those tiny parts. We are bigger than how small we've made ourselves. We are free of the bondage of sadness. A victimless crime on humanity. Simple. Quiet. Humble.
